You can recognise when someone you know is emotionally intelligent and will do things that make sense to them.

For example, if you are a person who likes to think about things that are outside your control and needs advice on what you can do to improve your life, this could be a good indication that you have an emotional ability to think for yourself.

It could also mean you are good at managing your own emotions.
